Some can, however many surgeries have now stopped earwax removal across West Yorkshire. Clients often have to pay to have them done privately.

Some people will never need earwax removal. Others can require it as a one off procedure and we have clients who have this done every few months.

Certain instances can make it more likely that you will need earwax removing on a more frequent basis. These include wearing hearing aids, headphone use & narrow ear canals. Sometimes people simply make more earwax than others.

It is not safe to carry out procedures using any instruments in your own ears. Damage to the eardrum (tympanic membrane) can easily occur when someone is not qualified to carry out the procedure.

We do not recommend the use of cotton buds or ear buds as they generally tend to remove the wax lining the ear canal which is not the problem and cause the blockage to be pushed deeper down the ear canal.

Why a home visit?

Over the years the team have noticed that many people require home visits. This can be for various reasons such as no transport, transport costs are too expensive, busy working people who need appointments out of work hours, housebound clients due to mobility or health conditions or simple ease. The team therefore decided to make this service transportable and able to come to you.
